Charlie Sheen Discharged From NYC Hospital

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Charlie Sheen’s publicist says the actor has been discharged from a New York City hospital after he was taken there for a psychiatric evaluation.

Sheen’s publicist says the 45-year-old actor is heading back to Los Angeles.

Police say Sheen was hospitalized Tuesday morning after security at the Plaza Hotel called them to report he was disorderly and had broken furniture in his room. His publicist blamed an allergic reaction to medication.

A law enforcement official says Sheen appeared highly intoxicated and a woman with him said they had been out drinking and partying. The official was not authorized to speak publicly about the encounter and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
