Max was released from the hospital several days ago and is home, Sheen’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, confirmed to Access Hollywood.
“He is fine, he made weight and went home,” Rosenfield said.
Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller-Sheen welcomed twins Max and Bob on March 14. However, Max had remained in the hospital due to concerns over his weight.
Reports surfaced that the newborn had remained hospitalized due to a serious heart problem, however, Rosenfield previously told Access that was not the case.
“Charlie and Brooke’s infant son, Max, remains in the hospital, not because of a heart condition as reported, but because he has not gained the weight necessary to leave hospital,” Rosenfield previously said, noting that the family expected Max to reach the necessary weight to be released shortly.
In a statement to Access, Charlie said the problems facing his son were not uncommon.
“The weight issue is very common among infants who were born before reaching full term,” he said. “I know a lot of people are not fond of hospital food; I just didn’t realize that they started so young.”
Max and Bob are the couple’s first children together. Sheen has three daughters from previous relationships.
