LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Nine months removed from his attack on his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, Chris Brown doesn’t think he’ll have a tough time finding a new love in his life – thanks to his celebrity status.

“My whole dating thing, I’ve been kinda chillin’. I mean, I’m Chris Brown. I’m not saying it like that, but it’s just, like, girls, I mean, are gonna be around,” Chris said in a new interview with MTV News. “I love women. But I would say definitely I’ve just been chillin’.”

The singer, who debuted his new music video for the single “Crawl” on Friday, has been taking public steps to get his career back on track, including announcing his first tour since the assault, which kicked off on Saturday in Houston, as well as his upcoming album “Graffiti,” due out on December 15.

In a new interview, which aired Friday on “The Wendy Williams Show,” Brown insisted he is sorry for his attack on Rihanna and hopes people recognize his efforts to show remorse.

“The steps that I’ve taken to show that I’m sorry probably have been perceived wrong…Certain things, when I’m doing certain interviews, and how my posture is to how I’m acting,” he told Williams. “At the end of the day, I’m definitely remorseful and it’s not something that I take lightly or think that it’s like under the rug. I really think it’s something that is a serious matter and I’m learning from it.”

And while Brown claims the women are “gonna be around” when he’s ready for a new relationship, for now, he said he’s focused on himself.

“I haven’t really been trying to get into a relationship or trying to date anybody,” he told MTV News. “I’ve just kinda been working on me. Like I said, just really getting me straight.”
