Outside of Leonard Nimoy’s Bel Air home, workers are busy constructing a new driveway, replacing flagstone with sleek cement as part of an ongoing conversion from Mediterranean to modern. Though the 78-year-old actor is also undergoing a metamorphosis of sorts, he isn’t paving over his past.
After a 19-year absence, Nimoy again dons pointy ears as a mature Mr. Spock in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek,” the highly anticipated science-fiction franchise reboot premiering May 8. A week later, he’ll originate the recurring role of genius gazillionaire William Bell at the end of the May 12 season finale of Fox’s wicked supernatural series “Fringe.”

NBC announced its new primetime lineup for the 2009-2010 television season on Monday, announcing the pickups of six new series featuring four new dramas, including “Trauma,” “Parenthood,” “Mercy” and the event series “Day One,” as well as two new comedies, including “Community” and “100 Questions.”

The 50-year-old former football star smiled as he was eliminated Tuesday from “Dancing With the Stars,” saying, “I want all my boys to know back in Miami: I’ll be on the practice range at 9; tee-off is 9:30.”

Scott Bakula is one busy guy these days.
His mid-life crisis dramedy, “Men of a Certain Age,” which co-stars Ray Romano and Andre Braugher, was just picked up for 10 episodes by TNT. He’ll be reprising his role this spring playing new Christine’s father, Jeff, on CBS’s “The New Adventures Of Old Christine” and now Access Hollywood has learned from a source Bakula has signed on for a three episode stint on NBC’s “Chuck” playing the dad of Zachary Levi’s character Chuck Bartowski.
