NEW YORK, New York --
While the entertainment world is busy chasing after the likes of Paris, Britney and Lindsay for the big sit-down, Maria Bartiromo has her eye on a very different prize.
“I spoke to Hank Paulson, Richard Syron and Angelo Mozilo. So I got the trio of the housing big hitters,” CNBC’s sexy and suave money reporter gushed to Vegas magazine.
And while those names might not mean a whole lot to the Hollywood pop culture crowd, when you’re covering the world of money, chatting with three of the nation’s most significant economic figures is quite a score.
Dubbed the “Money Honey” in the late 90s, when she became the first woman to report live from the raucous floor of the New York Stock Exchange, the 40-year-old Bartiromo told Vegas she doesn’t mind the nickname.
"I'm flattered and grateful I've been noticed. It's fine, it's cute, whatever. I've never had a problem about not being taken seriously, about getting belittled,” she added.
In fact, this self-described girl’s girl with a weakness for a nice pair of Manolos, has even gone as far as to trademark the term “Money Honey,” with plans to create an animated program aimed at making the convoluted world of economics digestible by children.
But that’s not all she’s got up her sleeve. For more with Maria, check out the latest issue of Vegas magazine!
