It appears Trouty Mouth may have sung his last song at McKinley High School.

Chord Overstreet will not return to “Glee” as a series regular, a spokesperson for FOX has confirmed to Access Hollywood.

However, Overstreet – who joined the cast last fall as newcomer Sam Evans – may return as a guest star from time to time.

“Well its been a good yr too bad its over,” the actor Tweeted on Friday. “Time for summer and starting fresh.”

While school is out for Overstreet, his fellow castmates Harry Shum Jr. and Darren Criss, will be receiving a dose of extra credit this upcoming season, as both actors have been promoted to full-time series regulars for Season 3, FOX confirmed to Access.

Criss plays Warblers frontman – and the beau to Chris Colfer’s Kurt Hummel – Blaine Anderson; while Shum plays footwork fancied, yet vocally challenged, Mike Chang on the FOX series.

As fans of the show know, Sam might not be the only McKinley High School student soon departing the show.

During a June interview with Ryan Seacrest, show creator Ryan Murphy said he plans to graduate at least some of the series’ original cast and eventually replace them with new blood.

“This next [season] will be their senior year, and then [after] that [they] will graduate,” Murphy said. “We didn’t want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted to be true to that experience.”
