Corbin Bleu's Dancing With The Stars Blog: My Action-Packed Week!

Former “High School Musical” star-turned-“One Life To Live” star Corbin Bleu joins AccessHollywood.com as our behind-the-scenes celebrity blogger for this season’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

Here is his latest post…

Week 10: I can’t believe it’s the semi-finals!

If we can make it through this Monday, there is only one more leg of the race! Being so close to the end has given me a new fire to pull from. And speaking of fire, our dances for this week have a lot of it. Everyone has two full dances, both to the same song (one the original and the second a cover version).

Karina Smirnoff and I have decided to connect the stories of both our dances.

First, we have a Tango and then a Rumba. Even though the Tango is our first dance it’s actually the end of the story, and the Rumba is the prequel. In our Tango, I am a dark lord of fire and she is my queen of darkness who no longer wants to be a part of the evilness. We end up in an epic battle that ends with the destruction of the ballroom.

In the Rumba, we show the backstory of how I seduced this innocent girl to join the dark side. The moral of the story is not to fool around with the villain!

Due to my obsession with horror films, I’m loving these characters and these dances! We’ve never gone this dark before and it’s so opposite of my nature that getting to play the villain is a rush. We have Maksim Chmerkovskiy as a bonus judge this week, and being known as a bad boy of “DWTS,” I really hope he loves it!

Besides dancing, this week was pretty packed. Besides a bunch of press interviews, I also went to Ashley Tisdale’s engagement party. I thought it was really well put together and sweetly intimate. She looked beautiful and it was a pleasure getting to spend time with her fiancé.

I went to the tree lighting at The Grove in Hollywood with the fam and girlfriend. My favorite part of that event was getting to see CeeLo Green perform “Mary Did You Know”; he killed it!

And I somehow was able to squeeze a trip to San Jose in this week. I was invited there to speak to a group of students at Presentation High School who were putting on a production of “In The Heights.” I love seeing people have a passion for theatre at such a young age. They put on a great performance and really made me miss being a part of that incredible show.

As a performer, it’s so important to remember why we do what we do. Even a high school production was able to move me and give me inspiration, which I’ll take with me to the dance floor. Then hopefully my performance can pass along that same passion to another.

It’s that cycle of feeding each other that keeps us lifted and wanting to do more!
