Coroner: Brittany Murphy’s Death ‘Appears To Be Natural’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Caption Brittany Murphy pops a pose at the TIFF premiere of ‘Love And Other Disasters’ in Toronto, Canada, on September 9, 2006Brittany Murphy appears to have died of natural causes, according to LA County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. “It appears to be natural at this time,” he told Access Hollywood at a press conference outside the late star’s home on Sunday evening. “We do understand she had a bit of medical history.” He added that the 32-year-old actress, who was pronounced dead on Sunday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, would be undergoing an autopsy. “We’ll be probably doing an autopsy tomorrow or Tuesday,” he explained. “The final results will be pending toxicology and further tests.” Winter also said that Brittany was found “collapsed in the bathroom,” but would not elaborate further on the circumstances. The family is being “very cooperative,” he said. “The family is very distraught.”
