A judge sentenced “Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis on Friday to time served and a year of probation for filing false income tax returns.
U.S. District Judge S. James Otero accepted the terms of a plea deal between Francis and prosecutors, who struck the deal after learning on the eve of trial that a key witness had lied to them.

Morgan Freeman has settled a lawsuit related to a 2008 car accident that seriously injured him and a passenger, according to court records posted Thursday. Terms of the settlement were not released.
Demaris Meyer filed a federal lawsuit against the Academy Award-winning actor in February, claiming Freeman had been drinking the night of the accident last summer and was negligent when the car ran off the side of a rural highway near his Mississippi Delta home.

Jesse James and wife Sandra Bullock are locked in a custody battle over his daughter from a previous relationship, Sunny Lee James.
In court papers filed with Los Angeles Superior Court on October 29 and obtained by Access Hollywood, Jesse claimed that ex-wife Janine Lindemulder had violated a court order given October 13 preventing her from allowing Sunny, 5, to have contact with her new husband, Jeremy James Aikman – a convicted felon.

A man arrested outside Ryan Seacrest’s workplace has pleaded not guilty to a felony stalking charge.
Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr. entered the plea Tuesday through an attorney. A court commissioner ordered Uzomah to stay 500 yards away from Seacrest if he is released from jail on $150,000 bail.

A French lawyer for director Roman Polanski, imprisoned in Switzerland, says a new bail offer will be filed Monday and it will be a “very, very significant” cash amount.
Swiss authorities rejected an offer Friday, considering the 76-year-old filmmaker awaiting a decision on extradition to the United States a high flight risk. They noted it was not a cash offer.

California prosecutors say they will seek the extradition of Randy Quaid and wife Evi after the couple were no-shows for a felony court hearing.
The Quaids were due in court in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Thursday afternoon to answer to felony charges that they defrauded an innkeeper. They have been given multiple chances to appear in court but never have.
