Dakota Fanning Talks ‘Runaways’ Kiss With Kristen Stewart; Joan Jett Offers Praise

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

“Twilight” fans are obsessed with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson kissing both on and off the big screen – but in 2010, Kristen will be locking lips with a different co-star – Dakota Fanning.

“Yes, it happens in ‘The Runaways,’” Dakota told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson Monday night at the LA premiere of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” referring to her onscreen kiss with Kristen in the upcoming movie about the 70’s girl rock band.

According to Dakota, Robert isn’t the only person that Kristen has big screen chemistry with.

“Was it a passionate kiss?” Shaun asked.

“Yeah. We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life,” Dakota said. “And that’s something that went down back in the ‘70s.”

The 15-year-old actress said the kiss wasn’t hard to prepare for.

“We were so into the scene and into the script and the characters,” she said.

And real life “Runaway” Joan Jett, who was also at Monday’s “New Moon” premiere, told Access that Kristen did an amazing job of becoming her.

“I was very pleasantly surprised because when I spoke to her about whether she was going to cut her hair or not, she was like, ‘Of course I’m gonna cut my hair!’ And that really helps to make the difference and really embody the look. And I thought she looked great,” Joan said. “The cast did an incredible job, Kirsten was an amazing, amazing actor.”

And when it comes to being on “Team Jacob” or “Team Edward,” Joan told Access she’s rooting for a different team.

“I’ll be Team Kristen!” she said. “How ‘bout that!”
