LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
As “Dancing With the Stars” continues to waltz towards the finals, one more contestant was bid adieu on Tuesday night.
Figure-skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi, Miami Dolphin Jason Taylor and singing star Mario, the top scorers from yesterday’s show, will continue on for another week after “Dancing” co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris revealed all three were safe.
However, the same couldn’t be said for Priscilla Presley, who was the latest dancer to be eliminated.
The actress was sent home, despite her sexy dance with partner Louis Van Amstel on Monday. Their dance even saw the 60-something star performing the splits mid-routine, but it wasn’t enough to save her from elimination.
As the credits rolled, Priscilla told Tom she was thrilled with her time on the show.
“I did things I didn’t think I could do,” she smiled.
With the top vote-getters staying in the competition, things will no doubt heat up on the ballroom floor thanks to the competitive drive of athletes Kristi and Jason. But fans shouldn’t count out Mario, who stepped up his game Monday with his samba with partner Karina Smirnoff, a dance that had even notoriously tough judge Len Goodman, cheering them on.
“I’ve gotta tell you,” Len said Monday, “best dance [of yours] so far!”
But Mario, Kristi and Jason aren’t sashaying their way to the finals just yet. Next week, stars Marissa Jaret Winokur, Shannon Elizabeth, Marlee Matlin and Cristian de la Fuente will also hit the “Dancing” floor to compete once again.
