'Dancing' Finalists Talk Race For Mirrorball
On Monday during part 1 of the “Dancing with the Stars” finals, Rob Kardashian surprised competitors Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez by landing at the top of the leaderboard.
So what can fans of the hit ABC reality competition expect from the last three contestants on the final night?
Frontrunner Rob told Access Hollywood’s guest correspondent Tim Vincent on Monday that he’s going into the finals “definitely more relaxed.”
“The dance we’re doing is the foxtrot, which we got a 24 on in week three,” he said. “Definitely going to improve on that, and just come out there strong. It’s definitely going to be a less stressful day, but there’s still a lot of stress going into it.”
The Kardashian brother said he’s not taking his lead for granted.
“We’re in first, but still you never know with this competition. We don’t want to jinx ourselves. We just want to have a good night of rehearsals and have a great day tomorrow,” he continued.
J.R., who tied with Ricki for second place on Monday, told Access he’s still in the competition to win it.
“We’ve still got a chance, he told Access. “The perfect score [will] definitely put us right back in the ball game… we’ve got to go back to work and hopefully get that favorite dance knocked out. Hopefully that will push us through.”
Despite tonight’s outcome, Ricki – who has dramatically slimmed down during her time on “DWTS” – is overjoyed with her experience on the show.
“Obviously we want to do well tomorrow. If we don’t win, I really will be okay,” she told Tim following Monday’s show. “I feel like I’ve won thus far. I’ve come further than I thought I would. I have a great career going next year, I’m getting married.”
Adding, “Life is good, but I’m going to give it my all.”
On Tuesday, the pairs will have one more dance for the judges’ score and a winner will be crowned.
“DWTS” airs at 9/8 C on ABC.
