Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars – Elimination Shocker
“Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” produced a bona fide shocker of an elimination show on Tuesday night, which featured a surprising elimination and an even more jaw dropping Bottom 2.
(SPOILER – this story contains the results of Tuesday’s elimination.)
The two couples who netted perfect scores during this week’s competition round – Apolo Anton Ohno and professional Karina Smirnoff; and Sabrina Bryan and pro partner Louis van Amstel — landed in the Bottom 2 on Tuesday.
Sabrina and Louis were then told they were the eliminated pair for Week 6 – coincidentally the same week Sabrina was sent home during Season 5 of the competition back in 2007.
“Thank you guys so much. You voted me on this season,” Sabrina told her fans, while speaking with show co-hosts Brooke Burke-Charvet and Tom Bergeron, her face still stunned by the news. “I did my absolute best because of you guys, so thank you so much.”
Louis, who danced with Sabrina (her original partner in Season 5 was Mark Ballas), called dancing with the former Disney star a treat.
“It was for me, a dream come true. I had it once before in Season 9 with Kelly Osbourne, and this lived up [to that],” he said. “I love you, but unfortunately our journey finishes here.”

Backstage, after the show, Sabrina told Access Hollywood she had a feeling it wasn’t her day, but still wasn’t prepared for the news, despite her Season 5 elimination shocker.
“No (laughs). Absolutely not,” she told Access, when asked if she expected to be going home. “You’re not ever really prepared. I think today was — it was tough for me. From the beginning of the day, it felt like doomsday for me… I was crying all through the trailer and hair and makeup and it was just really tough day and then to be out there and to see that we were at the bottom — I immediately went to [Louis] and said, ‘I’m sorry, it’s us. It has to be.’ I just, all of a sudden, got a gut feeling.”
Making it a little easier was pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who comforted the pair after the news.
“Maks said something — he said, ‘You know what? You went out with the perfect 30 and it wasn’t just the judges’ scores, it was all of our scores. We all give you a perfect [score],’” Sabrina told Access.
The elimination, and, in fact, the Bottom 2, really showed the power of America’s vote.
Sabrina and Louis’ two-week total (there was no elimination in Week 5) was a whopping 88.5, the highest total for the period of competition. Apolo and Karina had 86.5, which was good enough for second place on the leaderboard for the two-week period.
Aside from the elimination news, it was revealed that Mark will actually be competing next week with another one of his old partners – Shawn Johnson. Derek Hough will take the week off, due to a bruised vertebrae.
The “Stars” left standing were also given “fusion dances” to perform on next week’s show.
While the remaining couples will compete on Monday, there will be no elimination show next week due to the election. A double elimination will take place on November 13.
Here are the fusion dances the couples will be performing on November 5:
Apolo Anton Ohno & Karina Smirnoff will perform the cha cha/paso doble
Gilles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd will take on the Argentine tango/samba
Emmitt Smith & Cheryl Burke will perform the rumba/samba
Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovlani will perform the tango/cha cha.
Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas (filling in for an injured Derek Hough) will dance the tango/paso doble
Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy will take on the quickstep/samba
Kelly Monaco & Valentin Chmerkovskiy will perform the cha cha/foxtrot
