Jennifer Aniston Turns The Big Four O: Jennifer Aniston celebrated her 40th birthday Saturday night with a slew of A-list friends, including boyfriend John Mayer. Jen hosted the party at her Beverly Hills home, where she reportedly danced and “huddled close” with John throughout the evening. “She looked hot, and she and John looked really happy,” a source told E! Online. Jen’s guests reportedly included Oprah Winfrey, Sheryl Crow, David Arquette and wife Courteney Cox, Tobey Maguire and wife Jen Meyer, Laura Dern, and Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson. The party was said to last well past 2 AM. Jen was even lucky enough to have the police kick the prowling paparazzi out of the neighborhood… which might be the best birthday present a celeb could ever ask for!

“Grey” Throws Bash For Her Guy: Jen wasn’t the only celeb celebrating a birthday this weekend. “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo threw husband Chris Ivery a birthday party over the weekend at ONE Sunset in LA, People reported. Guests included “Grey’s” co-star Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart. The birthday menu included Maine sea scallops, chestnut tortellini and truffle mac ‘n’ cheese… we’re not sure Dr. Meredith Grey would approve of this indulgent rich cholesterol-filled menu, but since it was his birthday, we approve wholeheartedly!

Elton John Could You Get The Check?: And for someone who did appear to be in a celebratory mood, Elton John and husband David Furnish recently had dinner at LA’s Tower Bar restaurant where they chatted with fellow diners Alison Janney, Jennifer Aniston and Mick Jagger. But, when Courteney Cox and David Spade showed up and David yelled, “I hope he’s picking up my check, too!” (referring to Elton), the singer was reportedly not amused. “Everyone laughed but Elton,” a source told The New York Post’s Page Six. Let’s hope David didn’t dine & ditch, leaving Elton with the tab.
