LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
David Hasselhoff is “fine and well and happy,” a source close to the star told Access Hollywood on Sunday after an online report claimed the “America’s Got Talent” judge had been hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.
In fact, according to the source, the Hoff was out to dinner with his girlfriend, Kimberly, to celebrate his father’s 80th birthday on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Radar Online reported that the star had been found unconscious by his daughter Hayley on Saturday and brought to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles by ex Pamela Bach.
A spokesperson for Radar Online told Access on Sunday evening that the “facts are indisputable” in their reporting.
“Our story is 100 percent accurate,” the spokesperson added. Access’ source would neither confirm nor deny Radar Online’s story.
Additionally, a Cedars-Sinai spokesperson would not answer questions when reached by Access on Sunday.
According to a TMZ report, David’s lawyer, Mel Goldsman, alleged that Pamela was behind the hospitalization story and “in violation of the court’s order precluding contacting the media regarding her ex-husband.”
However, when reached by Access on Sunday, Pamela denied she was the source of the story but would not confirm any further details.
And on Monday, Hasselhoff’s lawyers, Melvin Goldsman and Marci Levine, released a statement to Access Hollywood about the reports which emerged over the weekend.
“Mr. Hasselhofff was at no time in the condition described in those stories,” the lawyers’ statement read. “Mr. Hasselhoff spoke to his attorneys on Sunday, and was absolutely fine. However, Mr. Hasselhoff is both disturbed and saddened by the fact that a certain individual is disseminating grossly inaccurate stories about him to the press for ulterior motives.”
