Missing along with the “All My Children” veteran is “The View,” overlooked as a best talk nominee, though that ABC show’s five panelists (Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters) are sharing a nomination for best host, competing against Ellen DeGeneres, Rachael Ray and “Live!” co-hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa.

The Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony has a new home at the CW network.
The CW’s entertainment president, Dawn Ostroff, said Wednesday the show draws a “core female following” similar to that of the network and will provide a promotional platform for the CW’s fall schedule.

“The View” is denying a report that co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck was told to not wear a t-shirt supporting John McCain.
On Thursday, the celebrity gossip Web site Defamer.com claimed after a conference call between ABC and “View” producers, it was decided that Elisabeth could not wear her pro-McCain shirt on the show.

Ellen DeGeneres won a fourth consecutive Daytime Emmy on Friday night, and she has no plans to stop there.
DeGeneres picked up the talk show host honor while “Rachael Ray” cooked up a surprising win in the talk show category during the 35th annual Daytime Emmy ceremony at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.
Meanwhile, Regis took home one trophy — and it was a big one: the Lifetime Achievement Award.
