Michael Jackson Memorial Gets 1.6 Million Ticket Requests

The more than 1.6 million fans who registered for tickets to Michael Jackson’s memorial service will wait until Monday to learn if they received one of the 11,000 tickets for Tuesday’s ceremony.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.

Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair has been shot and killed.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that police were called to a residence and found McNair and a woman shot to death inside. Aaron said authorities don’t yet know the circumstances of the shooting.

Los Angeles city officials are preparing for massive crowds downtown during Tuesday’s public memorial for Michael Jackson at Staples Center.

Assistant Police Chief Earl Paysinger says anywhere from a quarter-million to 700,000 people may try to reach the arena, even though a wide area around Staples Center will be sealed off to those without tickets.

The public memorial for Michael Jackson may feature some legendary star power – however, it will not be a flashy tribute concert, Access Hollywood has learned..

The service, which will be held at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles on July 7, 2009, will “not be a tribute, not a show,” Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich told Access Hollywood executive producer Rob Silverstein.

Police are looking to speak with Michael Jackson’s nurse about a powerful drug found in the singer’s home at the time of his death.

According to NBC’s Dateline, authorities want to speak with Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse who worked for the star, who has said Jackson asked her for Diprivan – also known as Propofol.
