It was a problem which plagued demi for years and she denied the for just as long when this red carpet photo surfaced in showing several cuts on her wrist. The marks were caused by fr tight-fitting bracelets. There is so much secrecy associated with the act. You think of it as such a dark thing. Just because you're cutting doesn't mean you're suicidal and that's something that's really, really prominent in young girls today and that's something that parents don't want to address at all because they're embarrassed and it's such a shame-based problem that there should be no taboo about it. I self harmed and she worried all the time. Yeah. I did. Why did you cut? Sometimes when you are feeling so numb just by being depress order anything, youust want to feel -- like on the outside, and is it a cry for help? Is it staying I want help? A little bit. I think in the beginning when i was younger I think the first time I self harmed was when i was 11 or 12, and honestly I saw it it on tv and I thought maybe this will help. Maybe this will fix the pain, and I did it, and somebody noticed and it was a cry for help, but then I started doing it in places where people wouldn't see and it was no longer a cry for help. It was -- okay, how am I going to get away with this and then the manipulative behavior came in and became really, really dangerous. ♪♪♪♪
