LOS ANGELES (January 5, 2007) — Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese has filed for divorce from her husband of 13 months, Marilyn Manson, who is celebrating his 38th birthday today.
The celebrity dancer whose signature move is frolicking in a life size martini glass on stage, filed the paperwork on Christmas Eve in Los Angeles. Dita (real name: Heather Sweet), cited irreconcilable differences as reason for dissolving their matrimonial union.
In papers obtained by Access Hollywood, Von Teese requests that property rights be decided in court and that Manson, aka Brian Warner, pay the divorce costs. Her paperwork also asks the Judge terminate Manson’s right to receive spousal support from Von Teese.
It is not know if Manson has received the divorce petition. A call to the lawyers representing Von Teese by Access Hollywood was met with no comment.
Manson and Von Teese were married last fall at Castle Gurteen in Ireland at the home of Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein. Manson wore an outfit designed by John Galliano while Von Teese wore Vivienne Westwood. Lisa Marie Presley, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, film director David Lynch and ?Matrix? star Keanu Reeves attended the ceremony.
Von Teese and Manson began dating in 2001. The couple have no children.
