NEW YORK, N.Y. --

Could Colin Farrell take Ed Norton in a fight?

“I don’t know,” Colin told Access Hollywood at the premiere of his latest film, “Pride and Glory,” but he didn’t sound hopeful about his chances. “I saw Ed in ‘Fight Club’ and he’s, you know, well-versed in the art of slamming someone’s face in.”

Both men star in gritty cop drama “Pride and Glory,” a film that’s sat on the shelf for a while due to what Farrell called New Line’s “internal politicking.”

“We shot this close to three years ago,” Colin said. “New Line [was] falling apart basically and they had a library of films – we were one of only, I think, 15 or 20 films in the library they hadn’t promoted yet. Warner Bros. took over the film and saw it and decided that maybe it deserved a shot.”

But audiences who have been waiting years for the film may want to cover their eyes during scenes that Farrell said are “not too pleasant.”

“Everyone suffers by the end of the film,” he said. “[But] none of the violence felt like gratuitous at all. [It] felt like it was placed within the story for a particular reason and to move the story forward.”

Speaking of intense scenes – the rugged actor had some more words about his infamous sex tape, which he recently spoke out about on the BBC.

“I have very little choice, man,” he said. “Sometimes you just laugh through the tears.”
