The big screen beauty-turned-“Gossip Girl” actress, 46, and Australian cricket star Shane Warne, 41, both Tweeted the same message over the weekend.
“Thanks for all your congratulations. Here’s a pic of us about to go to Dunhill dinner in St Andrews,” the pair said in identical Tweets.
Shane then took to Twitter on Sunday to clear up rumors about their engagement.
“I didn’t propose in front of 200 people at dinner. It was done privately and was very romantic – if I say so myself,” he wrote. “Ps left knee is sore !!!”
A rep for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship also released a statement confirming the couple’s engagement, saying, “Shane Warne has confirmed his engagement to actress Elizabeth Hurley after proposing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.”
Elizabeth’s divorce from Arun Nayar was finalized in June.
