Ellen Pompeo Welcomes First Daughter

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ellen Pompeo is a new mom.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” star welcomed daughter Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery on September 15, a rep for Ellen confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Stella is the first child for Ellen and music producer husband Chris Ivery.

“Grey’s” co-star Katherine Heigl – also a new mom, having adopted daughter Nancy Leigh recently – hosted a baby shower for Ellen several weeks ago at her Los Feliz home, with friends and co-stars including Kate Walsh, Sandra Oh and Rebecca Gayheart in attendance. Both Katherine and Ellen are on break from “Grey’s” to focus on their maternal roles.

The show’s sixth season returns on Thursday on ABC.
