Emmys 2014: Seth Meyers & More On Behind The Scenes Preps
Monday is nearly here and preparations for The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are in high gear.
Earlier this week, the actual Emmy statues made their voyage to Los Angeles from Chicago on United, Flight Emmy 1.
Access Hollywood's Liz Hernandez took the "Flight of the Emmy," where ground crew, airline staff and a host of lucky passengers got to pose with Monday's big prize.
On Wednesday, Emmy host Seth Meyers helped roll out the red carpet.
"I'm equal parts nervous and excited, and as we get closer to show day, I'm hoping the excitement will take over from the nervous, but look, I'm looking forward to it," Seth Meyers told Access' Liz. "It's a great event and I'm honored to be a part of it."
Asked what he'll do if he hits a rough patch in the Emmy broadcast, Seth quipped, "We're gonna roll in a re-run of 'The Voice.' We have that ready to go."
In reality, he's been working hard with his team to create lots of laughs on the night.
"We're just writing as many jokes as we can," Seth said. "I like telling jokes, so hopefully, we'll have a strong monologue and then we have some other surprises planned."
But, there will also be time to remember during the Emmys. Billy Crystal will lead a special "In Memoriam" tribute to the late Robin Williams.
Emmy Executive Producer Don Mischer said it will be a touching moment come Monday.
"The recent and shocking passing of Robin has really resonated with the country and especially, I think, [within] the television industry, and so what we're doing is -- it's simple, but it should be emotional and I think it's something that Robin deserves," he told Liz.
Emmy night kicks off at 7:30ET/4:30PT on Monday night, and Access Hollywood will have the red carpet covered as Access Hollywood's Billy Bush hosts the live half-hour 66th Primetime Emmy Red Carpet Special on NBC.
