LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

After having strutted her stuff for a Calvin Klein ad recently, you would think actress Eva Mendes is fairly comfortable in her own skin. Not quite.

While donning sexy lingerie to film a scene in “The Women,” Mendes said even she — with her svelte shape — had to go the extra mile to prepare.

“[I] skipped lunch that day,” she told Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell. “It was really cute because the craft service guy was just adorable, and he knows my weakness — chocolate covered almonds… By the end of that day shooting, he got me this whole thing of chocolate covered almonds and I was like a beast. I was like ‘Ahhhh!’ ‘cause I had to keep it together all day.”

During the scene, Mendes’ character, Crystal Allen, engages in an argument with Meg Ryan’s character, Mary Haines. Unfortunately for Eva, much of the scene was filmed from an angle she was particularly concerned with.

“For half of the scene, this lingerie scene that I confront Meg Ryan’s character… the camera is behind my back,” she said. “So it’s like on my butt! I’m like ‘Oh my god! I hope everything is OK back there.”
