LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Comicbook legend Stan Lee, the man behind such iconic titles as “Spider-Man” and “Fantastic Four,” is looking to take on the Beckham family.

Lee told Access Hollywood that the rumors are true – he is hoping to turn soccer star David and his pop-star-turned-designer wife, Victoria, into cartoon super heroes for his POW! Entertainment.

“I recently got this wild idea — everyone’s heard of David and Victoria Beckham, right? They’re great looking, talented and colorful. Now, here’s the exciting part, just imagine how cool they’d be in a humorous, good-natured show that depicts them as, you guessed it – superheroes,” Lee said.

Lee, who also created “Ironman” and “Daredevil,” thinks the British super-couple would make perfect superheroes, as they are already icons in their fields.

“David’s already a super soccer star and Victoria’s as super as a glamor girl can be,” he said.

And it isn’t just the Beckham’s on Lee’s list. He is already developing projects with former Beatle Ringo Starr, celebutante Paris Hilton and Playboy kingpin Hugh Hefner.

“I get a real kick out of working with fun celebrities and exploring the exciting possibilities of their secret superhero selves,” Lee said. “If they’ll just say the word, nothing could be more natural than including David and Posh in our riotous roster of superhero stars!”
