NEW YORK, N.Y. -- ‘30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan at the 2008 Emmys Caption ‘30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan at the 2008 Emmys A fire burned much of “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan’s New York City apartment on Wednesday, Access Hollywood has learned.

According to OK! magazine, the blaze occurred after the funnyman’s fish tank caught fire, which then spread to neighboring apartments in Tracy’s Trump Place building in midtown Manhattan.

The New York fire department confirmed to Access Hollywood on Wednesday that they responded to a fire at the building. The first call came at 8:34 AM and the flames were under control by 9:03 AM.

The star had the day off and production on “30 Rock” will not be affected.

“The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd, who lives in the same building as Tracy (and plays his on-screen wife on “30 Rock”), discussed the fire on the morning talk show, noting that she had had her son and nanny evacuate — and save her wigs.

“There was a fire in my building, right underneath my floor so my entire floor is flooded,” she said. “They said, you gotta evacuate, you gotta get [son] Jeffrey out — so I called up Alejandra [and said] get him dressed and tell him, grab all Momma’s hair!”

And, she added, he brought her wigs out safe and sound.

“He did! My baby knows!” she said. “Can’t leave Momma’s hair!”
