LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Fanpires are about to have a bloody good time!
This year’s first ever Twilight-inspired convention, TwiCon, will be held on July 30-August 2 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Despite the $255 conference registration and $139 hotel room rate, the event is expected to sell out.
“We have 2,500 tickets for sale and we’re expecting to sell out,” explained Becka Grapsy, one of the organizers of Twicon.
According to Becka, tickets have been selling to people of all ages from 11-year-olds to grandmothers, from places as far away as England and Australia.
The three-day conference will include guest appearances by “The Twilight Saga” cast including Peter Facinelli, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Mike Welch, and Christian Serratos.
There will also be performances by Twilight fandom bands, whose music was inspired by the series. The bands will include Twilight Music Girls and Bella Cullen Project; the Mitch Hansen Band will be headlining Friday afternoon.
In addition, there will be discussions about the books and film, a vendor hall that will sell everything from T-shirts to colored contacts, appearances by popular Twilight bloggers, and even a Volturi Masquerade Ball on Saturday night.
“Saturday’s our actor day actually. So, we’re going to have all the actors there during the day and then once that wraps at night, we have the biggest ballroom in the place,” Becka explains. “It’s kind of a classic Venetian-themed masked ball.”
