SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Access Hollywood has your first look at the attack version of the KITT car for NBC‘s new “Knight Rider” series.

According to the show’s executive producer, Gary Scott Thompson, this is the car that KITT will turn into when it goes into attack mode. In other words — this is the kick-butt version of KITT. In the show, its speed will top out 377 miles per hour. It’s made from parts from many different cars, including a Ford Mustang and it has Lamborghini doors.

The regular… friendlier KITT, is a Ford Shelby. Producers don’t know when it will be revealed. It can only go regular speeds. It will be diffferent than the KITT used in last spring’s 2-hour “Knight Rider” special.

The star of the show, Justin Bruening, says this is the car KITT becomes when, “say, a helicopter shoots a missile at it.”

It was custom built for the show by a professional car designer.
