First Defense Lawyer Ends Argument In Anna Nicole Case

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Anna Nicole Smith in 2006The first of three defense attorneys has completed his closing argument in the Anna Nicole Smith drug conspiracy case, asking jurors to find a psychiatrist not guilty of illegally prescribing medication to the former Playboy model.

Attorney Brad Brunon told jurors Wednesday that Dr. Khristine Eroshevich is a caring person who responded to a cry for help when Smith was inconsolable following the death of her son.

He said Eroshevich tried to help by writing prescriptions for anti-anxiety medications.

Eroshevich is one of three people charged with conspiring to prescribe prescription drugs to an addict. Lawyers for the other two were to deliver their closing arguments.
