LAS VEGAS, Nevada --

Former Miss Nevada Katie Rees has been arrested after an altercation with police, Access Hollywood has learned.

According to KVBC in Las Vegas, police claim Rees kicked and elbowed an officer as she was taken into custody.

She was arrested early Wednesday morning after being pulled over for speeding.

According to the Clark County Detention Center Web site, Rees was booked on charges of driving with no proof of insurance, driving with suspended license plates, speeding and resisting a police officer.

While being taken into custody, Rees chipped her tooth on the window of the car, according to KVBC.

This is not Rees’ first brush with controversy. As Miss Nevada USA, she was stripped of her crown in December 2006 after racy images of the beauty queen partying were posted online.

At the time, Rees publicly apologized for the photos (taken years before she was crowned), which showed her exposing her breast, her underwear and kissing other women.

“I am so sorry this happened,” she said at a news conference in Clearwater, reading a prepared statement. “So many of us don’t realize how our actions, even one night of poor judgment, can affect the rest of our lives.”
