Freddie Prinze Jr. Joins WWE

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Freddie Prinze Jr. is ready to get in the ring with WWE.

The actor, and longtime wrestling fan, has taken on a behind-the-scenes role with World Wrestling Entertainment’s creative team, the WWE announced today.

“Freddie Prinze Jr.‘s passion, energy and creativity make him an excellent fit for WWE,” said WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

Prinze’s creative efforts will contribute to the wrestling organization’s weekly TV and pay-per-view programs.

Besides his acting credits, the 32-year-old actor also served as creator and writer of his short-lived ABC TV sitcom, “Freddie.”
