Jason Momoa has lined up a new gig.
The former “Game of Thrones” star (he played Khal Drogo) will appear in Sundance Channel’s “The Red Road.”
The network announced that the actor has a lead role in the original scripted series, but offered no further character details.
The show will revolve around a sheriff struggling to keep his family together as he deals with two communities that are clashing.
“After a terrible tragedy and coverup occurs involving the sheriff’s wife, an unholy alliance is forged between the sheriff and a dangerous member of the tribe that will come back to haunt all involved,” Sundance said of the show in a release.
“The Red Road” was picked up for six, one hour episodes. Aaron Guzikoski (“Contraband”) and producer Sarah Condon (“Board to Death”) are behind the show.
In related news, Jason was spotted at Comic-Con over the weekend, popping on stage during the “Game of Thrones” panel last Friday to give his former co-star, Emilia Clarke (she was just nominated for an Emmy), a hug and kiss.
