Simon Cowell has claimed he mesmerized Britney Spears during her recent visit to his UK reality talent show, “X-Factor.”
“This may be a bit egotistical… I think she was in awe of me,” Simon told Britain’s Mirror newspaper.
And Simon, who is gearing up for Season 8 of “American Idol,” said there was more to their encounter.

Michael Johns is gearing up to release his first post-“American Idol” album in March 2009, but this holiday season, he’s lending his musical talents to charity.
Michael will release “Another Christmas,” an original song he penned, via iTunes December 9, with 50 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Red Cross, and the other half – thanks to his friendship with Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell – to help out the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease, also known as ALS.

Gary Coleman has pleaded no contest to a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a September incident at a bowling alley.
The 40-year-old former star of “Diff’rent Strokes” was ordered to pay a $100 fine in a Payson court Tuesday. He also pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge, which will be waived if hedoesn’t have any other violations within a year.

William Balfour has officially been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
The Cook County State Attorney’s Office confirmed Balfour, who was arrested for the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s relatives, was charged with the murder counts and one count of home invasion on Tuesday.
