Box Office Showdown: ‘Inglourious Basterds’ Storms The Box Office (August 24, 2009)
Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” takes the top spot at the box office with $37.6 million. Dropping to second place was last week’s champ, “District 9,” with $18.9 million, followed by “G.I. Joe” in third with $12.5 million.

“District 9,” which cost around $30 million to make, tops the box office with over $37 million. Coming in second place with $22.5 million was last week’s champ, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” followed by “The Time Traveler’s Wife” in third with $19.2 million.
