“This is my first time in my first movie premiere, so I don’t know, I don’t have any expectations other than to have a good time tonight,” Christina Aguilera told us on the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of her very first film, “Burlesque.”
From the look of things, she did have a good time, posing and holding hands with co-star Cher.
Christina looked lovely in an emerald green, empire waist, silk chiffon gown by Elie Saab, which she paired with Neil Lane jewels and loose waves. We asked her what the best piece of advice was that Cher gave her.
“She had a great quote,” Christina said laughing. “Ex-husbands will come and go, but I will always remain Cher.”
Ha! Love it! So Cher.
And the iconic performer ruled the red carpet as only Cher can. When she and Christina saw each other for the first time on the red carpet, Cher said, “Yeah, it doesn’t get any better than this.”
The star showed off her gorgeous gams in a black shimmery mini with lace sleeves… designer unknown!
“I don’t know, no,” Cher said. “You know what? It’s a dress from the show and it was like a good luck dress, but I really, you’d have to look at something to tell me.”
We didn’t check out her labels, but at 64, the star looks as fit and toned as ever. “Well, I work at it, you know? I mean, I’ve been working out my whole life, so it’s not a big deal, but as you get older, you know, you have to work harder.”
The premiere had a very big time Old Hollywood flavor, thanks in part to the location - the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, which has special meaning for Cher.
“Grauman’s means much more to me than you can possibly imagine, because when I was 4-years-old in this theater I decided that I was going to do what I did. I was watching “Cinderella” with my mother and on the way home I start singing these songs and my mother said to my father, ‘Listen to her. She’s singing all the songs.’ And I just thought, that’s what I’m going to do when I grow up, that’s what I’m going to do. Even though that I had no idea that I wasn’t a cartoon and that, was you know, a cartoon, but so and now I’m here.”
“Burlesque” opens Wednesday, November 24.
