LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ooh-la-la! The 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival has begun and so has the endless stream of awesome fashion! Salma Hayek wowed the crowd at a photocall for her animated movie “Puss In Boots.” Her soft leather strapless dress in cognac with organza shrug embroidered with hand painted flowers is from Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2011-12 Collection… and is similar to the Gucci flowers Jennifer Lopez wore to the Met last week.
Rachel McAdams also had floral detailing on her ladylike white Maxime Simoens Couture day dress at a photocall for her new Woody Allen film “Midnight in Paris.” Later, at the premiere, which opened the festival, she went with a red-hot va-va-voom red and nude Marchesa. The embroidered red silk organza dress with illusion cap sleeves and tulle ruffle skirt is gorgeous! At the same premiere, festival judge Uma Thurman looked amazing in a white strapless gown with feather detailing at the bottom, which she paired with emerald Chopard jewels, including a stunning pair of 18 carat white gold chandelier earrings set with 34 pear shaped emeralds for total of 54 carats, as well as an emerald bracelet.

Angelina Jolie stuck to her signature neutral palate in head-to-toe Salvatore Ferragamo. She paired her beige chiffon v-neck cocktail dress with a brown leather belt, and nude patent leather pumps at the photocall for “Kung Fu Panda 2.” In our interview with the actress, she looked classy in a simple black dress and told us her kids, who are also in Cannes, loved the film.
“Yes I brought all mine. It was great, I was so, I was nervous at first,” she admitted. “I didn’t know if they were gonna react to some of the issues in it, (which) are very personal family issues and adoption and inner peace and was it too heavy? Or was it too beautiful and not goofy enough? And they laughed through the whole movie out loud. They loved it, they’ve asked to see it again. I’m a hero at home.”
She also said she and the kids would be spending some time in Cannes. “I’m gonna stay here the next few days, all the kids are here and they’re running around… they’re at home in the world, they’re happy wherever you drop them.”
Lady Gaga also hit the glamorous city in her typical Gaga-tastic style, of course! She worked a sheer lace top, leopard print tights, high heel boots and platinum and black hair surprising fans with a concert on the beach. I’m not sure the French Riviera will ever be the same!
