LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Jada Pinkett Smith, Kim Kardashian, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Eva Longoria have all been spotted in bold, brightly colored jeans and I don’t think they’ve had this much fun with primary colors since their Crayola days!
Rachel Bilson and Hilary Duff worked the bright look in J Brand color pop jeans, which are so in demand there’s even a waiting list!
The jeans, which retail for $176, come in several colors including royal blue, kelly green, red, yellow, purple, orange, fuschia and turquoise.
Nervous about trying the trend? It’s easy to incorporate bright jeans into your wardrobe with these tips from Mary Pierson, VP of Design at J Brand, who says the look is versatile because “Brights can be worn from day-to-night on any occasion depending on how you dress up or dress down the look.”
TOPS For day or a more casual look, pair brights with a simple white, grey or black jersey long tank or tee. For an edgier day look you can also wear a white tee with a bold graphic. For a dressier or evening look, a neutral or black shiny, flowy, feminine top.
JACKETS Brights look great with a black or neutral oversized tailored blazer or a lightweight cropped leather motorcycle jacket.
SHOES Depending on the occasion a patent leather black or neutral strappy platform high heeled sandal or ankle bootie. For an edgier look a great pair of low black motorcycle boot or high top converse. For very casual look bright jeans can be worn with a flip flop.
ACCESSORIES Since tops tend to be neutral chunky or long and delicate necklaces in gold or silver work nicely with this look. Bags should be black or neutral either big and bold or small and delicate.
Overall looks with brights are fun, optimistic and can be very sophisticated. Adding bold color is a great way to update and refresh your spring/summer wardrobe.
