LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It’s fitting that Kate Hudson is once again the face of Ann Taylor for the brand’s Holiday 2012 Collection.
The holidays are a big, big deal for the Hudson/Hawn/Russell clan!
“We always go home,” Kate says. ”I grew up in Colorado and we always to back to Colorado. The whole family comes — my brothers and all of the kids and at some point during Christmas we all get together and do that. The kids ice skate and people drink hot cocoa. We’re [a] super traditional Christmas family. Mom and I decorate the house. We make snowmen- kind of magical.”
Sounds like a storybook holiday to me!
Like all of us, Kate’s schedule gets even busier during the holiday season, but she still took some time out to answer a few holiday shopping questions for Glam Slam readers. (Shhhh! Don’t tell mom, Goldie, what Kate’s getting her!)
Glam Slam: When and how far in advance do you start planning and shopping for gifts? Do you plan in advance and are all done by the time December comes or are you a last minute holiday gift giving shopper?
Kate Hudson: My gift-giving is very personal, so I start really early, usually around October. I love making gifts or finding just the right thing for someone, so I like to give myself plenty of time.
GS: What are the must-have gifts that you plan to give this holiday to the special people in your life?
KH: My mom and sister-in-law will definitely be getting yummy cashmere scarves from Ann Taylor- I love them and I know they will too!
GS: What is your fave kind of gift to receive? Are you a hard person to shop for? Do you think those around you feel a lot of pressure to pick out a good gift?
KH: I love gifts with sentimental value attached to them, especially something that is handmade. You can’t go wrong with anything to do with cooking or baking for me and I love candles!!!
