Hitting the party circuit for the holidays? Aren’t we all!

Pretty pink cheeks like Jennifer Lawrence’s are one way to go this season, according to makeup maven extraordinaire Sonia Kashuk, who shares her holiday beauty tips with Glam Slam readers.

“This holiday is all about unexpected glamour,” Sonia says. “The festive season always means sparkle and shine but this year, try incorporating drama in a new, exciting way!

“Bright pink and coral blushes like the two found in my Formal Affair Holiday Face Palette used to be reserved for the warmer weather months, but now these glow-enhancing shades have become seasonless. Try dusting one of these pops of color to the apples of the cheek, swirling back towards the hairline, for a beautiful brightness that is sure to turn heads.

Gold, silver, and holiday have become synonymous, but playing dazzling metallics in my Precious Gems Lip, Eye and Nail Set, as a fun accent is the easiest way to spice up your standard seasonal look. Try a bold gold liner or a hint of platinum shimmer on lips for a perfect party pout. Still timid about trying this trend? The safest way to stay holiday festive this season is with tinsel inspired nails – mix it up with a modern French manicure featuring gold or silver tips!

A sultry smokey eye is a star staple for any occasion, especially during the holidays. The key to creating a smokey eye is understanding how to layer the color. Start with the lightest color first and then blend your deepest tones into the lash line and crease for definition and drama.

Keep in mind when working with dark, deep colors it is important to minimize and manage fallout by shaking excess powder off the brush before applying to lids. When working with particularly dramatic dark makeup, a trick I use is to apply my eyes first and then go in with my foundation and concealer to eliminate the hassle of fallout altogether. My Instructional Eye Shadow Palette in Eye on Dazzling Color is perfect for creating an updated, modern smokey eye with 12 shades in all the colors of the season, plus step-by-step instructions to create 3 stunning, sexy looks.

The four spectacular shimmer shades are my favorite thing about the palette. These shades are ideal for that special accent for truly show-stopping eyes. Pump up the glamour by adding a pair of false eyelashes for ultimate drama and pair with nude lipstick to really emphasis the power of the eyes.”
