LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr just got back from their honeymoon in the Caribbean today. New brides Carrie Underwood and Emily Blunt spent their honeymoons in Tahiti. Penelope Cruz got married in the Bahamas.
You don’t have to be “just married” or chilling in a tropical paradise to look radiant though, thanks to these get gorgeous tips from Celebrity Makeup Artist Napoleon Perdis…
“Looking for a sun-kissed look minus the damaging rays? The no-brainer approach to glowing skin is to sweep a bronzer over the cheekbones, nose, decolletage and shoulders with a large powder brush. You’ll look like you’ve been lounging on a yacht - no anti-motion pills required. Also, I love using our Whipped Dream Tan Enhancer when I need a little lift. Try mixing it with a shimmery body lotion for a subtle all-over color.
You could also steal your vacay look from the recent resort shows. I directed the makeup at Lela Rose in New York and we created a dewy, coral statement that is perfect for a honeymoon getaway. You can use DeVine Goddess Lipstick in Hess as a stain by applying to a lip brush and gently tapping onto the lips, or pump it up to a vibrant level. Add a coral powder blush on the apples of the cheeks, followed by a wash of peachy-orange color from the lash line to the socket using a soft blending brush. Finish with a second coat of waterproof mascara like my Mesmer-Eyes Mascara.
The last thing you want to worry about while honeymooning is your makeup. Use a primer to make sure your makeup lasts all day long. My Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer allows your makeup to have the smoothest landing possible. You could also mix it with a little bronzer for a no-makeup look.
At night spice up your look with a vivid scarlet lipstick. Lipstick is making a serious comeback, especially roaring red colors. I like to think of it as an exclamation mark that makes the face instantly fantastic and it’s the ultimate accessory. Choose a red shade with red-blue undertones to make the teeth look whiter. Perfect for those romantic photos.”
