Thankfully, we still have a month or so of summer weather, but before you know it, the temperature will start to drop. And, just like we need to transition our wardrobe, we also need to make adjustments to our skincare routine.

Celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas (founder of her signature skincare line) is a favorite with celebrities like Michelle Williams, Naomi Watts and Emma Stone. She believes we can keep our summer glow right through fall. She shared with Glam Slam a few of her favorite celebrity-tested tips.

1. My number one tip for glowing skin is absolutely my favorite skin fix: Drink a green juice every day. It will be a great replacement to your afternoon coffee and it will literally transform your skin in a matter of days. It helps oxygenate the skin and stimulates lymphatic drainage, so it’s de-puffing too! My skincare solution for the skin needing greens is my Daily Serum. It’s a green juice for the skin!

2. Exfoliate! Exfoliation is my secret weapon to having great skin. It’s the most often skipped step in people’s home routine, but it makes a huge difference in the way your skin looks and feels. Think of exfoliation as creating a perfect canvas for your products and your makeup. You could be investing in the most expensive amazing skin care products at home, but if you don’t exfoliate, those ingredients won’t ever penetrate to make any difference at all. As the weather turns cooler, I have all my clients step up their exfoliation routine. A good way to do it is sleeping in my Exfoliating Mask overnight. After a good night’s sleep in the mask, you wake up fresh faced like you have just had a facial.

3. Eat more avocado. It’s the best way to achieve perfectly hydrated skin from the inside out. Avocado is loaded with B vitamins and fatty acids which really feed the skin what it needs to stay hydrated even in dry fall/winter weather.

4. Make the switch to natural products. It’s always confusing when you walk into a store and have so many choices in terms of which direction to go with your products. I recommend taking the leap into natural beauty products. Natural products have amazing results oriented ingredients that penetrate more readily into the skin and show a real result fast. I love a serum that delivers an instant glow to a client, and natural serums like my Rejuvenating Serum will give you that right away.
