LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

The biggest party night of the year is almost here! Lindsay Lohan is hosting a bash in Miami. Fergie, Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz, Heidi and Spencer, Carmen Electra and Usher will be living it up in Vegas. To look YOUR best when the clock strikes midnight, we enlisted NARS International Lead Makeup Artist Uzo, who has worked with Drew Barrymore, Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton, to show us the perfect party look.

“New Year’s Eve is all about dressing up and looking and feeling your best. It is also about great makeup that lasts all night long!” Uzo says.

“The biggest beauty trend of the season and for New Year’s Eve is a bold red lip paired with velvety luminous skin. You always want to absorb any excess oil or shine on the face before you start,” suggests Uzo. “Use blotting papers gently press on cheeks and T-zone, which will instantly eliminate excess shine and skin will be left feeling refreshed and ready for touch-ups.”

“Next use concealer sparingly to under eye area, around the nose and lips to offset any darkness, redness and/or blemishes. Blend to a perfect finish using fingers.”

“To get that signature NARS glow and luminosity to the skin, use the multi-purpose NARS Multiple stick in Copacabana, a beautiful glistening pearl shade for fair complexions. Maldives, a shimmering pink champagne, is good for medium complexions, while South Beach, a light shimmering apricot is perfect for tanned to darker complexions.”

Apply with fingers to cheeks, bridge of nose and forehead to give skin that soft, dewy look with a pearlescent sheen and subtle color. Blend to a perfect finish.

Then, Uzo suggests you use Super Orgasm blush over the apples of the cheeks for that fresh pinky-peach glow that works for all complexions. Great for the holidays because of the additional gold flecks in the blush!

Next, use either bronzing powder in Laguna or a translucent pressed powder and lightly dust over entire face.

“A beautiful, bold, red, look-at-me lip is the easiest way to glam it up for night with zero effort. NARS velvet matte lip pencils in Cruella, a scarlet red, or Dragon Girl, which is a vivid true red, are great for that siren red lip. Apply generously to lips, blot, then reapply. A matching lip liner, in Amazon or Jungle Red, may be used for more precision and lip gloss added for additional shine.” Uzo suggests Scandal or All Night Long.

“Lastly, lightly sweep NARS eyeshadow in Night Life (silver glitter) or Silent Night (gold flecks) over eyelids to add a little twinkle. Blend and buff to a fine mist using NARS Shader Brush # 3 and NARS duo eyeshadow in Kilimanjaro, which is a combination of icy gold and icy yellow. Eyes should be kept clean and simple as the focus is on the lips.”

Finally, add more mascara to upper and lower lashes and you are good to go!

Happy New Year!
