LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Caption Jessica Alba, Amanda SeyfriedIf you’re getting tired of all your heavy sweaters and coats and scarves and boots, take a little mental style vacation with an early glimpse at some of the big trends for spring courtesy of InStyle!
TRY: The Bold Palette Now is not the time for shrinking violets. Big, brash, fruit-punchy color is back, and this time it’s full-body. (Hello Jessica Alba!)
TRY: Leather Yes, you’re reading this right. A mainstay of fall and winter collections, leather is now the fabric of choice for warm-weather looks too.
TRY: Ruffles On the spring runways, the ruffle brought a flirty accent to necklines, sleeves, and hems. (Just like InStyle’s cover girl Amanda Seyfried’s gorgeous black Balenciaga, pictured above!)
TRY: The A-Line Silhouette Making the grade in 2013: this crisp, ultra-flattering shape, especially noticeable when done in a solid hue.
TRY: The Sandal-Boot One of the most interesting accessory fusions we’ve seen in this marriage of a gladiator’s warrior feel with the sexiness of an open-toe heel.
The January issue of InStyle hits newsstands today!
