Your invite list reads like Paris Hilton’s social calendar. Thanksgiving cocktail party. Office holiday party. Holiday dinner with the girls. New Year’s Eve bash. There is always a lot of sparkle this time of year, but aim for subtle shimmer like Sienna or you risk going overboard like disco-tastic Lady Gaga!

Erin Benke, personal stylist at Nordstrom at The Grove in Los Angeles, shares her head-to-toe style tips for the perfect party pieces.

THE LBD
Still considered an essential wardrobe staple, the Little Black Dress has evolved into a fresher look with more details, including ruching, lace and fringe. This season’s dresses are off the shoulder, strapless, beaded or embellished with sequins. DAZZLING ACCESSORIES

Even the smallest additions can make a bold statement. Just make sure to choose one statement piece that will complement, not take over, your outfit.

SHOES THAT DANCE ALL NIGHT
Complete your holiday look and sizzle in this season’s embellished footwear: decorative ballet flats by Jessica Simpson or Charles by Charles David’s red ruffled satin peep-toe platforms.
