LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The stars of “Glee” are still in a state of shock over the news that their FOX comedy has been picked up for a second season – some are even in a “‘Glee’ bubble”!
“We’re still working really hard, we haven’t even completed our first season. So there’s still a lot of hard work ahead of us,” Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) told Access Hollywood Monday at FOX’s after party following at their Television Critics Association panel in LA. “We say a lot, we’re in a little bit of ‘Glee” bubble. But it’s great because we get stronger and grow closer as a cast every single day.”
Lea said she and co-star Cory Montheith (Finn Hudson) sometimes almost have to pinch themselves to make sure their success is real.
“Corey and I will turn each a lot and be like, ‘Oh my god! Is this happening?’ But it’s great. I’ve believed in this show from day one,” she continued, adding, “It’s pretty awesome.”
Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang) said her co-stars help to keep her grounded.
“I think that we have each other to kind keep ourselves in check,” Jenna told Access. “I’m employed, and I’m grateful and I love everybody. We have a family and a place to be.”
As for Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray), she thinks the magnitude of the show’s success won’t really hit home for a while.
“In a few years from now, maybe it will have all sunk in, but right now it’s just far too grand!” she said.
And for Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester), the success and second season news have been good for her mental state.
“This a psychological relief!” Jane told Access. “Knowing that I get to do this show and play this character and work with these people for another year is just thrilling to me! We’re booking! It’s really good!”
