LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- As “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” made its highly anticipated television debut on Tuesday night, the DC Universe dropped some news of its own!
Fox has nabbed “Gotham,” a new drama which explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon of “Batman” fame, according to Deadline.
The series will be helmed by Bruno Heller (creator of “The Mentalist”) and produced by Warner Bros. TV, according to the website, and will also delve into the plotlines of some of Gotham City’s most infamous villains.
The drama will take place in a time when Gordon is still a detective and consequently, Batman will not be part of the series, the website reports.
“Gotham” is the second noteworthy, upcoming TV series for WBTV and DC, as “Flash” will reportedly hit the small screen next year on The CW.
Casting for the planned TV series has yet to be announced.
