BURBANK, Calif. --

Nominations for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards won’t be released until the end of the year, but we’ve got your preliminary look at what musical acts we at On The Download think will be nominated this year.

Why so early? The eligibility period for Grammy noms ended on August 31. Albums that were released between October 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009 are eligible to be nominated for the Grammy Awards taking place (earlier this year!) in January 2010. So we thought we’d get the ball rolling on the Grammy forecast.

There have been several stellar albums and efforts put forth this year. We’re predicting who will receive nods in the four big categories: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Best New Artist categories.
