According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harrison has signed on to the Will Ferrell comedy, where he will play a veteran newscaster similar to Tom Brokaw.
Harrison’s new role opposite Will’s dimwitted lothario news anchor Ron Burgundy will not be the first time the actor has played the role of a news man.
In 2010, he starred with Rachel McAdams in “Morning Glory,” where he played a seasoned newscaster working in morning TV.
The sequel to the 2004 hit comedy – which also stars Christina Applegate, Steve Carrell, Kristen Wiig, Paul Rudd, John C. Reilly, James Marsden, Luke Wilson and Dave Koechner – is slated to hit theaters on December 20, 2013.
First up, Harrison will be seen in the Jackie Robinson biopic “42,” coming in April.
