Jennifer Aniston has often said yoga is the secret to her sensational body. And, the woman behind Jennifer’s practice is yoga guru Mandy Ingber, who credits the actress with helping to bring yoga to the masses. “Jennifer has helped yoga. When we see people [like Jen], we relate to practicing, it allows us to be open to it. To me, Jennifer has become very present. She has connected to her body from the inside out, and has a deep strength and positivity that emanates from her.”
Mandy, who also works with well-toned stars, Kate Beckinsale and Helen Hunt, is now sharing her celebrated teachings with the rest of us in her new book “Yogalosophy: 28 Days to the Ultimate Mind Body Makeover.” Building on the concepts Mandy made popular in her Yogalosophy DVD, this book is handbook to not only toning yoga moves, but also offers nutrition tips and a 28-day inside out makeover. “This is a plan that everyone can follow. If a specific exercise or pose doesn’t work for you, there are so many options to choose from each day. That’s all you have to do. The point is to move your body daily, shift the way you think about your body, and make healthier choices based on self-love rather than lack,” advises Mandy to Healthy Hollywood.
Mandy tells Healthy Hollywood the goal of her 28-day plan is to break habits and set new ones in motion. “I have the basic signature hybrid routine and three diet options: vegan, omnivore and lacto-ovo vegetarian. Each day has a recipe, playlist cardio options, journal questions, gratitude list, breathing exercises and a different intention each day.”
At the end of Mandy’s program, folks can expect to be more in tune with their bodies, both physically and internally. “The real difference with this book is that we can start seeing our bodies in a loving way NOW. So this isn’t about whipping yourself into shape. I want everyone to know that the body you want is already in the room with you. It may be hiding under a layer or two.”
Healthy Hollywood is game to try Mandy’s program. I, Terri MacLeod, am addicted to yoga and always up for experimenting with a healthy eating plan. And, if I could get a body like Jennifer Aniston by the end of May – so much better!
