NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Team USA soccer star Hope Solo shed a new light on the Olympic village after she dished on all the sexual shenanigans happening amongst the athletes.
“With a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you want to build memories, whether it’s sexual, partying or on the field,” the 2008 gold medalist recently revealed to ESPN, adding, “On the grass, between buildings, people are getting down and dirty.”
With the London 2012 games right around the corner, Hope “hopefully” has taken her mind off sex and onto to the soccer field.
“It doesn’t matter how many Olympics you’ve been to, there’s always the unexpected. That’s why athletes keep coming back for more no matter how tough and grueling the work is, it is for those few moments that nobody can predict and where you do whatever it takes to come out on top,” Hope reveals to Healthy Hollywood.
Healthy Hollywood caught up with the sexy Olympic champ during her promotion for Simple skincare. While she is fierce on the field, Solo has a sensitive side – at least when it comes to her beauty routine.
“My motto is look good, feel good, play good. I actually have really sensitive skin which I’ve struggled with for years and [my skin] often flares up because of my crazy schedule, travel and stress. I use Simple skincare products to manage it,” she says.
Hope and her teammates have been prepping for London since the Beijing games. “We train year round always with the World Cups and Olympics in mind. Once one Olympics is over, everybody turns the page and starts the rebuilding process for the next one.”
To keep her body in optimal shape, Hope is on an intense training plan. Right before the games, she was training twice a day, including weight training three times a week, coupled with frequent fitness testing to make sure she’s meeting her fitness goals and is on track to excel. “I actually love jump roping. It helps me keep my quickness as well as endurance which are both important to my position. I also take my sister’s yoga class and I’m going to start incorporating laps in the pool.”
So, once the Olympics are over and Hope is hopefully holding another gold medal, how does she plan to celebrate?
“I plan on turning off my phone and computer and going on a long vacation post Olympics! However, I’m rarely able to enjoy my own home because we travel so much, so even just relaxing at my place in Seattle is a luxury for me!” Hope adds.
